Final Project INCOME Presentation for Heifer International 
Thailand NGO Forum on Women's Rights to Natural Resources

June 26-30th our Director, Phoung Maly Nhean, attended an NGO forum in Thailand to learn more about women’s rights to natural resources. Representatives discussed the lack of opportunities for women to report violations to their rights to natural resources. The objective of this conference was to help build the capacity of member NGOs and improve networks around Asian countries in regards to empowering women’s rights to natural resources.

Women's Self Help Group & Agricultural Cooperation Meeting

This meeting allowed women participating in the Women's Self Help Groups to reflect on their experiences with Project INCOME. It also allowed the Agricultural Cooperation to discuss how they plan to sustain community cohesiveness after funding from Heifer International ends this June 2017.

Farmer Field School for Women's Self Help Group

With support and funding from Heifer International, Rachna Satrei recently conducted a Farmer Field School where 30-35 women from the Women's Self Help Group in the Rosey Sanh village were invited to come share their knowledge and experiences about planting vegetables and raising livestock. This program empowers women to become self-sustaining while generating a source of income. For personal stories shared at this event please click here.

Passing On the Gift Ceremony 

With support and funding from Heifer International Cambodia, Rachna Satrei conducted a Passing On the Gift ceremony for the Women's Self Help Groups in Siem Reap on May 22nd, 2017. Since the ceremony, Rachna Satrei has provided the women with training on how to raise and feed the animals. 

Project Inspire Vocational School Grand Opening 

During April of 2017, Project Inspire Vocational Sewing School officially opened its doors! Although most of the equipment has been funded, we are still looking for donors who are interested in helping us purchase more sewing machines for the future students. Women's Self Help Group Meetings

Rachna Satrei previously established 37 Women Self Help Groups. A total of 1,468 family members from six different communes in the Srei Snorm district of Siem Reap are involved in these groups. These groups help to strengthen women social capital, while also serving as a platform for women to share knowledge about the value of community development, accountability, trust building, and the process of sharing information.

Conference on Securing Funding for Community Fisheries

On September 27th, 2016, Rachna Satrei attended a workshop conference to discuss securing funding for community fisheries by integrating natural resource management into community investment plans. Click here for more info!

Workshop for Strengthening CSO Networks for Inclusive Development

On September 26th, 2016, our director Maly was a guest speaker at the Volunteer Service Overseas consultation workshop for their project, "Strengthening CSO Networks for Inclusive Development." More details can be found here.

Building the Vocational Sewing School

Back in 2014, we completed the construction of our Sewing School in Siem Reap. As of September 2016, we still need funding for all the equipment, including the sewing machines. Feel free to make a donation so we can get this building in use!
