Water Wells Project
Since its inception in 2011, this project has directly benefited 10 farming families from Sothnikom and Banteay Srei by providing water wells to each family to ensure the success of their crops year-round. The wells have also benefited neighbouring families. Rachna Satrei continued to monitor each well and hopes to expand the program to include more farmers in the near future.
Agricultural Development Project
In efforts to develop the agricultural capacity in rural communities, this program was launched in the Romchek commune in 2008. Rachna Satrei provided agricultural training sessions, supplies, and livestock to local farmers.
Women's Aid Project
In partnership with the United States Embassy, Rachna Satrei was able to provide education and counseling on women's rights, food and clothing packages, and two boats to the women of the Kompong Khlang commune in 2010.
Gender Rights Project
Rachna Satrei funded an initiative to promote women's rights within the home and community. We conducted awareness sessions where the entire community explored issues related to domestic violence. The participants received education on women's rights and in each community a female representative was elected. These representatives received further training on preventative and responsive measures to combat domestic violence and were provided connections to local authorities and lawyers. These women have become leaders that have begun to drive positive social change in their communities.
